「竹杖ノ会」は京都を活動の拠点とする日本画家6人による
展覧会です。2019年に始まり今展で６回目となります。
和田ひとえ・若狹悌尚・長谷川雅也は京都造形大学で
竹内浩一の教えを受け、寺村里香・マツダジュンイチ・
吉田眞理子は京都精華大学で村田茂樹の薫陶を受け、
卒業後も先生たちとの交流を続け作画精神も受け継いできました。
（村田茂樹は２０１８年に没）
写生をもとに制作する伝統的な日本画を継承しながら各々
個性的な描法で、変化著しい現代に切り込んでいます。

``Tikujyou No Kai'' is a group of six Japanese painters based in Kyoto.
It's an exhibition. This exhibition is the 6th since it started in 2019.
Hitoe Wada, Teisho Wakatuna, and Masaya Hasegawa studied at Kyoto University of Art and Design.
Following the teachings of Koichi Takeuchi, Rika Teramura, Junichi Matsuda,
Mariko Yoshida was trained by Shigeki Murata at Kyoto Seika University.
Even after graduation, I continued to interact with my teachers and inherited their drawing spirit.

忘れられない言葉があります。
大学卒業時に恩師 橋田二朗先生が「藁で縄を編んで解くとする。
新しく編んだ藁はすぐに伸びて元の藁の姿になる。
でも長い年月編まれていた縄を解くと藁はクネクネと
編んでいた後が残る。」と仰いました。
卒業して４０年足らずの私は、当時の橋田先生の年齢と同じ頃になり、
この言葉の意味を身に染みて理解できるようになりました。
共に切磋琢磨してきた絵描き仲間とも良い関係が築けてきた今、
幸せに思います 寺村里香
There are words that I will never forget.
When I graduated from university, my teacher, Jiro Hashida, said to me, ``Suppose you want to weave a rope out of straw and then untie it.
The newly woven straw quickly stretches and returns to its original appearance.
But when I unravel the rope that has been woven for so many years, the straw becomes stiff.

It has been less than 40 years since I graduated, and I am now the same age as Mr. Hashida at the time.
I am now able to understand the meaning of this word.

「咽ぶ熱さの余韻が残る中で移り行く季節。
日常を揺るがす世界情勢に心痛む事が多い。
限られた言葉数では表せない心の悶えを絵肌に
滲ませたいと思うが難しい。
現実に向き合えば陰る中にも希望の光を作中に感じさせたいと思う。
この会の慕う恩師の絵心は深く足元にも及ばない。
